This Supplemental Privacy Policy incorporates and supplements the Creative Commons Master Privacy Policy with respect to the information collected through use of whyopenedmatters.org. If you enter a submission to the Why Open Education Matters Video Competition (the “Competition”), you will be required to complete an entry form asking for certain personal information. This information will only be used for the following purposes: to identify and keep track of submissions (including by creating a personal account for you on whyopenedmatters.org), to identify and contact you to confirm your submission and to ask questions or address problems related to your submission, to identify and contact you if you are chosen as a winner of the Competition, to identify you in connection with your submission on whyopenedmatters.org if you so elect on the entry form, and otherwise related to conduct of the Competition. Because the information on the entry form will be associated with your submission, the information may be shared with employees and contractors of CC, the Open Society Institute and the U.S. Department of Education, and the expert judging panel solely in connection with administration of this Competition.
If you are a member of a team of individuals entering a submission, you will be required to submit a Team Member Release Form asking for certain personal information. The team leader who enters your team’s submission will also be required to include your name on the submission entry form. This information will only be used for the following purposes: to identify and keep track of submissions, to identify and contact you in case of a problem with your team’s submission, to identify and contact you if your team’s submission is chosen as a winner of the Competition, and otherwise related to conduct of the Competition. Because the information on the entry form will be associated with your team’s submission, the information may be shared with employees and contractors of CC, the Open Society Institute and the U.S. Department of Education, and the expert judging panel solely in connection with administration of this Competition.
If you register on whyopenedmatters.org in order to vote for your favorite video, you will be required to disclose certain personal information, including your real name and email address. This information will be used to ensure that each person submits only one vote. The information will be shared only with employees and contractors of CC, the Open Society Institute, and the U.S. Department of Education who are involved in administration of the public voting process on whyopenedmatters.org.
